(Deutsch) B O N N (24. Juli 2004) Heute vor 81 Jahren wurde in Lausanne ein Friedensvertrag unterzeichnet, der noch heute für die christlichen Minderheiten der Türkei weitreichende Folgen hat. Der Lausanner Friedensvertrag entstand zwischen dem Abschluss des Bürgerkrieges und der Gründung der Türkei durch Mustafa Kemal Atatürk.

(Deutsch) Von der ersten Seite der Tageszeitungen ist das Thema vorübergehend verschwunden. Doch gelöst ist das schwierige Problem noch lange nicht. Die Frage, ob es einer muslimischen Lehrerin erlaubt sein soll, ihr Kopftuch auch im Unterricht zu tragen, ist nicht leicht zu beantworten. Dabei geht es um den Konflikt zwischen Glaubens- und Bekenntnisfreiheit einerseits und staatlicher Neutralität in religiösen und weltanschaulichen Fragen andererseits.

(Deutsch) „Liebe“ im westlichen Verständnis ist im traditionellen Bereich der arrangierten Ehen keine Voraussetzung für eine Eheschließung. Im städtischen Bereich hat hier allerdings ein Wandlungsprozess eingesetzt und mehr und mehr junge Leute heiraten den Ehepartner ihrer eigenen Wahl. Traditionell misstraut man einer Frau, die sich in einen Mann verliebt hat und hält sie für unmoralisch.

Nach Mekka und Medina ist für sie Jerusalem die drittheiligste Stadt der Welt: Bait al-muqaddas, das heilige Haus. Juni 2004) Während in Algerien, Ägypten, Iran, Pakistan und der Türkei Abtreibungen ganz verboten sind (mit Ausnahme bei der Gefährdung des Lebens der Mutter), ist ledigen wie verheirateten Frauen in Tunesien die Abtreibung grundsätzlich in den ersten drei Monaten gestattet. Auch in vielen, anderen muslimischen Ländern ist die Abtreibung aus gesundheitlichen Gründen bis zum 90. Tag erlaubt.

Has the True Gospel of Jesus Been Found?

The time has finally come: the so-called “Gospel of Barnabas” is now available in German. It carries the title “Das Barnabasevangelium. Wahres Evangelium Jesu, genannt Christus, eines neuen Propheten von Gott, der Welt gesandt, gemäß dem Bericht des Barnabas, seines Apostels“ … The German publication of this text was undertaken by a German married couple which has converted to Islam. Both are members of the mystic Dervish order of the Naqshbandiyya, whose roots extend back into the fourteenth century.

The Islamic view of Christians: Qur’an and Hadith

Muslims (sometimes even Nonmuslims) complain about Christians – or Western society – insisting on portraying Islam as “the enemy”. They believe that Christians especially precondemn Muslims whereas Muslims “tolerate” Christians and accept them “without prejudice”. But is that really the whole picture?

Islamic Views about Christian Scriptures

Among Muslims today, the idea that the text of the Bible has been falsified has long been a part of common belief. It is assumed that the Old as well as the New Testament originally were genuine revelations from God, but that in the course of time they were altered and distorted by human beings. Among Muslim non-theologians, there prevails only a vague knowledge about how these changes were undertaken and to which Biblical statements they are supposed to apply. Muslim theologians, on the other hand, attempt to corroborate the Islamic dogma of the falsification of the Biblical texts with arguments from the historical-critical exegesis of the Bible as practiced by Christian theologians.
